My own top ten, TV characters, requested by
linniekin:
Of course no. 1. Willow Rosenberg (Buffy). Obviously. So pretty! So gay! And the vampire outfit...
And the others in random order...
2. Jean-Luc Picard (Star Trek: TNG), cos bald is cute and he's so masterful! Plus, the sweaty vest in 'First Contact', mmm...
3. Ted Crilly (Father Ted). His house was full of rabbits. And he's a Nazi.
4. Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks). Played by Kyle MacLachlan. Damn fine.
5. Pingu (Pingu).
miss_newham and I were so cool we'd bunk off school to watch 'Pingu'. 'Little Accidents' is the best episode ever.
6. Rupert Giles (Buffy). Oh, Tony Head, the sexy older man. Mmm. This is confusing, cos I also wish he was my dad. He'd be a great dad.
7. Athos (Dogtanian). Likes his beer. Is a dog. Yay!
8. Inspector Morse (ditto). He's a cliche, and not that clever, but still.
9. Niles Crane (Frasier).Played by David Hyde Pierce. Well, obviously he's a complete twat, but he makes me laugh.
10. Ralph Wiggum (The Simpsons). He's called Ralph! "My cat's breath smells of cat food", and so on.
This makes me realise that mostly these days I just watch documentaries and 'Neighbours'. Sigh.

| The Ardent Atheist The results are in, and it appears that you have scored 75%... |
| You are an atheist, pure and simple. You think God is just one big lie, and consider religious people to be both annoying and beneath you. Ardent atheists will argue tooth and claw for their position, and have no truck with people that won't listen. You think being an atheist is the only way to lead an honest life, and see no reason to accept the pleas of faith. Ardent atheists are the backbone of atheism. Be proud. |

Hey,
I received the letter 'W' from
very_true_thing. Here goes...
Wales - I'm half-Welsh. My mum gave me a Welsh name. I've had some excellent holidays in Wales, at my gran's, at my friend Gwilym's, with
gleet, visiting
pink_weasel and, aeons ago, with
miss_newham. Wales has given me my family (more curse than blessing), the harp, and my lovely psychiatrist. I like the pits, the mountains, the language. I've got the book to learn Welsh, altlough when I'll get round to it, I don't know.
Water - I'm a water-baby. I drink a lot, but what I like best is to be in it. Swimming's the only sport I've ever been any good at. I first swam a mile when I was 8. I'm not competitive though - probably why I didn't stay on the school team for long. I love to look at it as well, and to photograph it - little lakes, raindrops, waterfalls (with some major sessions at Victoria and Niagara). Water is good - clean, quenching, refreshing and essential.
Women. I love women (as Lou Reed once sang after some intense ECT 'treatment'). I love being a woman, despite the dangers. Some of my best friends are even women. I'm not here to slag off men (my beloved
gleet is one, after all, and a superior one at that). But some women are really hot. What else can I say? Well, I never got round to sleeping with one, I should mention that. But still. Mmmm.
Washing. Related to Water. It makes me feel better, much less anxious. Doing it til I bleed is a bit of a problem, so my feelings are mixed. However I now wash people professionally, so there's no escaping from it.
Writing. This is what I do. Everything else is a research trip. Well, sometimes life feels like that. That's all I can say, as the rest is a closely guarded secret for now.
Wibble. A good word. Can be Rowan Atkinson with knitting needles up his nose, or what you do in fear, or when someone does something very cute. And for some reason makes me think of Graeme Garden.
Watching. I suppose I mean films and TV, and also people in public. I like those things. Also a good word, cos it makes me think of Giles.
EDIT: I do not mean the crappy old sitcom featuring that short woman. No.
Willow. Oh yes. She is splendid in every way. Rejoice.
Whales. Related to Water. They're beautiful. I was obsessed with killer whales for a while as a kid. I think it was the black and white style thing. I know I would be terrified to be in the water and see a whale, especially a blue one, but I'd love to see them from a boat. So big. So mysterious. So tuneful (?).
Wank - an underrated swear-word. Less fond of 'wanker', but it's still useful sometimes.
I have a lot more to say about the letter 'P', but never mind. This is what you get. Memetastic!
Leave me a comment and I'll give you a letter.
